Practitioner Profile
Caren is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with a special interest in paediatric, maternal and sports nutrition. Caren has a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics and Master in Sports Nutrition, and is a current doctoral candidate at University of the Sunshine Coast. She has also completed the postgraduate International Olympic Committee (IOC) Diploma in Sports Nutrition in Geneva.
Caren is a mum, dietitian, athlete and has been a yoga teacher for 12 years. She has always loved movement and mindfulness, and completed her initial Purna Yoga training in beautiful Byron Bay. She has since then trained in yin yoga, and kids’ yoga, and has taught various styles such as Vinyasa and power yoga, pilates, core work and mindfulness meditation. She has a passion for all forms of mobility and motion and hopes to share its benefits with you, whether you’re a beginner or advanced, an athlete or on a rehab program seeking a little balance and space.
Caren has experience in clinical, corporate and education settings, delivering high quality nutrition education programs and workshops across a variety of settings. Caren has worked in both public and private hospitals, and as a nutrition advisor for corporate organisations. Caren enjoys variety in her work and is also a part-time sessional lecturer and researcher at USC. Her current project is focused on breastfeeding and postpartum maternal nutrition, though in the past it has been on sports nutrition at the AIS. Caren now hopes to share her passion for “health through nutrition” with the Alchemy in Motion community through her open, flexible approach.
