Practitioner Profile
Tarryn is incredibly passionate about improving the quality of life of those she works with and takes a holistic approach to patient care.
She started her career in 2011 at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, where she fell in love with this clinical area of Physiotherapy. She has since worked predominantly in the public hospital system where she practiced in an Advanced role in the Physiotherapy-led Pelvic Health Clinic, where patients who are awaiting specialist appointments across Gynaecology, Colorectal and Urology areas can have earlier access to conservative treatment.
She has also worked in the maternity and surgical wards, run various group classes and managed multidisciplinary clinics alongside Gynaecology and Colorectal specialists and other allied health professionals.
Tarryn has extensive experience in treating all facets of women’s and men’s pelvic health including urinary and anorectal dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. She also loves to support women during their pregnancy and beyond.
Tarryn also loves teaching and inspiring the new generations of Physiotherapists in this important clinical area. She is involved in teaching the Gender Health subject at Australian Catholic University, and also teaches both the Level 1 and 2 Women’s Pelvic Health and Women’s Health Through the Lifestages courses for the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). She is currently the vice-chair of the APA Queensland Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Committee.
When you see Tarryn, you can be reassured that she will take time to listen to you and your concerns, work collaboratively with you and your health care team to ensure you feel empowered to get to where you want to be.
Having grown up in Sunshine Beach, Tarryn is looking forward to reconnecting with and spending time in the local community. In her spare time, Tarryn loves being a mum, spending with her family, getting down to the beach and reading epic fantasy books!
